Even by Bornholm standards, Sømarken is extraordinarily authentic. In Østre Sømarken (East Sømarken) the small “island habour” has been the basis of life in the small fishing hamlet, feeding most of the residents there. The harbour continues to play a role for fishing, although now only on a hobby basis. Guests visiting the area can be so lucky as to be able to buy freshly caught fish directly off the boat. In the local smokehouse, Bakkarøgeriet, guests to the area can taste the Bornholmian fishing specialities and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
