The old olive mill has several apartments, one is to your disposal. It is ideally situated: 30 minutes drive to picturesque beaches or the world famous 'Leaning Tower' or to Lucca, one of Tuscany’s most beautiful cities. Mountain lovers will have to travel a further 15 minutes, but for those who will settle for the town mentioned in Dante’s 'Divine Comedy', Buti can be reached in only five minutes by foot. But, nevertheless, it is situated in absolute quiet. This historical olive mill is a real gem for which no comparison can be found even among the many ancient Tuscan ruins. Sheltered by a wander path and traditional stone wall on the upper side and on the lower side by a wild running brook, the grounds, with their lovingly restored buildings and relics of former times, stretch over many terraces. Enclosed by olives, grapes, magnificent fruit trees and a Mediterranean Bamboo grove, an abundance of tradition and culture are to be found here.

Notes
The apartment is realized in the typical Tuscany rustic style. There are terracotta-floors and visible wooden-girders. It is technically well equipped and cosily furnished. It has an own terrace at ones disposal.
The very first impression of 'Il Vecchio Frantoio' is one of atmosphere and peace. The most important 'living room' with southern flair is the shaded, comfortably furnished terrace of the apartment. The well kept 7x14 pool, with its 'Thermohub' roof, guarantees swimming from mid-April until into October. Happy hours are promised by the poolside bar. Perhaps with a glass or two of the house red or white? And in 'Il Vecchio Frantoio' you can also enjoy other home produced Tuscan specialities.
Finding in Buti the original Tuscany
This old Basketweaver´s village hasn´t been spared the ravages of our times) but the villagers have kept their naturalness, and above all, their joy of living. The Piazza, with its Cafes, remains the central meeting place for swapping news and stories. From the culinary perspective, Buti is also a paradise. No less than 7 Restaurants are within easy walking distance. Quality, preparation and service ensure that people travel from far to visit the Restaurants of Buti. The highlight of the festivities is the 'Palio' in January. In the morning, before the riders take to the course, there is the parade of all participants, dressed in their magnificient medieval costumes.
Relax and Wellbeing for Body and Mind
An unique monument is the historic part of the Vecchio Frantoio. Probably there will be worldwide no other existing olivemill that worked once in this special method of decanting. According to it’s unusual atmosphere the lower part of the frantoio is very famous as a meditation- and seminary-hall. Daily meditation sessions - also with supervision - are offered there. In relation to the very old structure the carfully renovated mill is now in a very well condition and the unique acoustics makes our little concerts - life or by CD - to a great musical pleasure for our guests. Or they can relax with Qi-Gong exercises in the cool bamboo grove.
