There is an alarm system that had been integrated into the house when we had it built which probably wasn`t necessary at all. There are ceiling fans and of course a modern air condition/heating system. The house has large windows which is not so common in this part of the world, to enjoy the view. Good insulation. A nice fireplace, winter guests will be provided with firewood. Cosy atmosphere and rustic decor 'western style'. Nobody and nothing is going to bother you out here. Still it is only a relatively short drive into the city. With many possibilities for activities in the 'neighbourhood'. Fantastic location of the house with wonderful view in the middle of nature. In ground swimming pool with diving board and underwater light. 2 porches. A colibri feeder so you can enjoy watching the colibris while you are out on the porch. Gas grill on the porch. Toaster and Coffemachine in the kitchen.
Rodeos, Country Western music and festivals, Golf, horse back riding in the wilderness, waterski, rent a jet ski or any other boat on one of the many lakes, swimming, canoeing on the Brazos river, fishing, antique shops and flea markets, hiking or take a tour in your car in the Wichita mountains in nearby Oklahoma, there you could see bison, elk, or watch the funny prairie dogs in their 'prairiedog town'. Museums about settling Texas, visit Forts from the 19th century, go to a theatre performance or concert, Cowboy pubs or discotheques, eat Texas barbecue in one of the barbecue places in W.F or Mexican dining. Cook something tasty from the Texas cookbook in the house or get a rib eye or T-bone steak from the excellent butcher in Windthorst ('Luis') put it on our grill and enjoy a bottle of Texas red or a Lonestar beer. Sit in the evening by the pool or on the porch and enjoy the evening listening to the sounds of the coming night. Look at the huge sky count shooting stars and dream.

Nature
Hiking or taking a walk on the property is a must. Attention, you could even get lost (for a while). Many butterflies, owls, turkeys, cardinals and many many more. You’ll see vultures glide above the house in the late mornings, many small birds, raccoons. Depending on the season you can hear coyotes howl or bark at night, whitetail dear, bobcats, armardillos, very cute they’ll come right up to the porch digging for roots. Possums (many visits to the porch lately documented), skunks, ringtails, squirrels and sometimes a fairly tame rabbit. Roadrunners, wild pigs near the westfork river which is fairly close but not on our property, and the hummingbirds. Breathtaking wildflowers in April/May that cover everything and at the same time the cactus bloom.
