The vacation villa in Nokomis is situated between South Sarasota and Venice. All Shopping Malls are very close (Target, Dillards, JY Penny, new Super Walmart/24 hours) and a lot of restaurants. There are two factory outlets nearby. For swimming and relaxing we'd suggest several beaches. You can reach Nokomis Beach at Casey Key in around 10 Minutes and go biking along the villas of the millionaires. At Venice Island you will find the well known Casperson Beach with prehistoric shark teeth's and beautiful shells. And don't forget Siesta Beach, one of the top ten beaches in the world with quartz-cristal sand which is 20 minutes away. Venice also provides araound 20 bicycle routes. The Distance to Oskar Scherer National Park is about 5 minutes, to Myakka State Park 60 minutes. You can reach Orlando's leisure parks (Disneyworld, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Epcot Center) in about two hours.
