Surlej is located between the Silvaplana lake (100 m) and the Corvatsch mountain (200 m). It is an excellent place for skiing, cycling, hiking, water sports and for relaxing activities, in all seasons. There are forests with sign-posted hiking and cycling trails for miles and parks for children with cookout/barbeque facilities, several Ski resorts and wind-surfing centres, paragliding, mountain climbing and entertainment centre located nearby. The area has a breath taking panoramic view of the lakes and the mountains in all directions. The snow in the winter is excellent and offers a great place for both down hill and cross-country skiing. The village centre has very good restaurants, bakery, tea-rooms and more choices are within 7-10 min drive to St. Mortiz or Samedan. From the apartment it takes 5 min to walk to the lake and 10 min to Silvaplana. There is bus service from Surlej (2 min walk from Apartment) to Silvaplana - St-Mortiz etc. Train service is available from St-Mortiz.

Notes to the rental rates: The rates for the week of Christmas, New Year and Carnival are 1400 CHF, with a minimum stay of a week. Following booking agreement with the owner, the guests will be directly contacted by the owner for final arrangements and details regarding the payments. The costs in addition to the rent and to be paid by the guest are: 1: Village Tourist Tax per person per day; 2: a charge of SFr. 140,- for the final cleaning of the apartment; 3: a laundry fee of SFr. 30,- per person at the final departure of the guest; the cost of telephone and internet use will be paid by the guest. During the low season (weekly rate 910) if someone stays more than a week the daily rate can be reduced to 100 Sfr.- per night following agreement with the owners.
Skiresort Corvatsch, height 1870 m, is perfect for skiing and snow boarding. It has several ski routes and also has a skiing school for children above 4 years of age. Near the lake there are miles of tracks for cross country skiing. There is a complimentary bus service to the Ski resort of corvatsch. Other skiing resorts close by are: Corviglia in 7 km, Diavolezza in 20 km.
Hiking and Nordic walking
There are several hiking trails for miles along the lake and in the mountain. The trails are well marked with all facilities like restaurants etc at regular intervals. Bus service and train service is also available close by to make your trip convenient.
