The lake is surrounded by mountains. It is an excellent place for water sports and for relaxing activities in all seasons. There are forests with well signposted hiking trails for miles and parks for children with cookout/barbeque facilities, several Ski resorts, paragliding, mountain climbing and entertainment centre are also located nearby. You’ll find great shopping facilities and cultural activities. The main village of Ronco s/Ascona is located 200 meters above the lake and has a spectacular view from the valley of the river Ticion to Luino in Italy. The village centre has a pedestrian zone and is hosts very good restaurants. From the house it takes less than 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes walking to the village of Ronco. There is also a permanent bus service from Ronco to Porto Ronco, Ascona, Brissago and Locarno.
