This unique red timber house is tastefully decorated. After the sauna relax on the large terrace and listen to the sound of the nature. Satellite-TV, DVD and stereo set (radio, tape, CD) are there for your entertainment. The covered pavilion in timber is a place you will be happy in. Grill your fishes or a steak on the campfire and just enjoy the moment. You find garden furniture, outdoor grill, private grounds in rural surroundings, child-friendly environment. The great wilderness area is just on the doorstep and the forests are rich in mushrooms and berries. Placed on peace and quiet in picturesque surroundings. Clean water and fresh air. Bikes are free of charge. The rowboat is on the lake Östan about 1,2 km from the house. Your car can be parked nearby. For a more convenient stay: Bed linen, towels and final cleaning is included. Sorry - no smokers. No pets. Stockholm is only 4 hours, Västerås 3 hours away by car. Escape to Sweden - Dalarna is the perfect place to escape to!

Our genuine timber house is located between lakes and rivers. Fishing and trekking in that area is just great. The rowboat is on the lake Östan, about 1,2 km from the house. You can easily park your car close by the boat. The boat and the bikes are free of charge. Just enjoy the nature and the surroundings such as the Openair Dalhalla. Culture has always been a part of everyday life in this area and represents Sweden 'in a nut shell'. Nowhere else are living traditions and culture better presented. A land of adventure! With attractions such as Summer Land, Santa World and the Bear Park. There are the beaches and swimming in the lakes, or canoeing. There is mini golf or just going for an adventure in the forest. The natural scenery of the area, with its lakes, rivers and forests, are the result of one of the world's largest meteorite impacts of all time. The area is heaven for bird watchers and it is rich in elk, bear, wolf and beaver. Unspoiled wilderness and idyllic village.

The area is home to many practising artists and craftsmen. Their activities include textile, weaving, wood carving, silver jewellery manufacture, ceramics, basketry, grindstone production, birch-bark weaving, working forge and much more. A day trip in the area takes you to Orsa, Mora, Rättvik and Lesand.
Music and Culture
There are magical events where you will be spellbound by the music, drama and natural surroundings. Certain places have remarkable inherent drawing power. Dalhalla, which has changed from an abandoned limestone quarry to a musical stage, is one such place. This gem lies in the forest a few kilometres south of Furudal. Beside the Ore River are three museums, including a fin Dala Folk Costume Museum. There are working forge and more. Manor House dining room with lunch is available daily in the summer. Don't forget to visit Gamel Stan in Norrboda! It is a beautiful 14th century village. The Traditional Midsummer celebrations are in Östanvik. Midsummer's Eve, Midsummer's Day and the Sunday. Something to be experienced from within. In this area you find the quietness of unspoiled nature as well as culture and attractions. Visit a match in the Ishall in Furudal. In Furudal you will find 2 banks, 2 shops and a coffee shop with a wonderful bakery! There is also a Pizzeria and two Restaurants. In Östanvik you could buy organic tomatoes and much more. In summer and autumn we have wonderful areas for berry-picking and rambling. Marked nature- and hiking trails. Great Sport-Fishing around Lake Ore. Everyone, from the specialised enthusiast to the beginner, can be satisfied. The area is heaven for bird watchers. Something one never forgets! Evan more to explore: Santa World, Summerland, Waterfall Styggforsen Dalarna, in the heart of rural Sweden, is a jewel that is slowly beginning to be discovered. Not the typical tourist destination, Dalarna is the perfect place to escape to from the business of life, and gives you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the real Sweden. The area boasts many beautiful secluded lakes. A child friendly lake which is never busy is Löming - just a short walk from the house.

Hello Kerstin. We have now arrived back home from two enjoyable weeks in Sweden. The house was fine very comfortable clean and well equipped and the location was quiet and peaceful. For the two days driving up to Ostanvik the weather was great 26 Celsius and the Sunday was great but from the Monday it turned but, we found lots to do and visited quite a few places.
