Edinburgh and more
The train from Berwick-upon-Tweed takes you directly to the capital of Scotland in less than 1 hour. The cottage is therefore ideally located if you want to visit this historic city for a day or two, maybe to see the Edinburgh festival and Tatoo during the month of August and still benefit from the peace and quietness of the countryside! There are 21 golf courses at the Scottish Borders and 19 courses along Edinburgh's golfing coastline in East Lothian. They can all be reached within less than 1 hour drive. Among these courses, there are Eyemouth, featuring the famous hole 'A-Still-No-Ken', voted the most extraordinary golf hole in the British Isles as well as the Open Championship course at Muirfield and the Roxburghe, set in the lands of the Duke of Roxburghe, in the medieval town of Kelso. Guest book
The cottage is perfectly located in a very peaceful and easily reachable village. Rental features are of excellent quality. The interior is very pleasant and comfortable, which is important even in the summer time in case it rains or it gets a bit chilly. The extensive equipment and utensils that are at renters' disposal are of great quality, especially those in the kitchen. We found lovely bedrooms, good quality bed linen and spacious bathroom. Cleaning and change of bed linen and towels took place in the middle of our stay. The garden and the small summer house are charming. We appreciated the owners leaving some of their private equipment (badminton rackets, DVD - even in French) at our disposal. The tips and advice in the cottage guide book are very accurate. In short, we felt very much 'at home'. Guest: Family Ravassard, Paris
