Villa Miradouro is located in Faja da Ovelha-Calheta south west coast of the Island, an area blessed with stunning unspoilt countryside, bird wildlife (binoculars recommended) and quaint villages “Paul do Mar and Jardim do Mar”, it is a mere 15 minutes drive from the seaside resort and sandy beach of Calheta. The Villa is south facing with excellent exposure to the sunshine, offering tranquillity and relaxation as well as spectacular panoramic views of a lighthouse, countryside, coastline and incredible sunset views. Completely renovated in 2004 in modern style with rustic features, tastefully furnished to a high standard. The Villa benefits from a swimming pool 10 x 5 m with a heated shower, built-in BBQ with a large patio lit up for open-air dining. With an open-plan layout, the villa is spacious and offers maximum natural light, it also offers a furnished veranda and breakfast room both overlooking the sea.
Madeira described with expressive attributes such as “flower island” and “island of eternal spring” two thirds consists of protected areas with unique and versatile landscapes and nature, abundant with exotic and tropical flowers / fruits due to a mild climate even in midwinter. The villa stands at almost 50 minutes drive from the airport using express roads and finally through villages with sea view. Express roads with tunnels through mountains and bridges altogether with the recent construction of several new marinas along the coast has increased the popularity of the west side of the island. There are some popular restaurants / bars, mini market and a Bank with ATM nearby with a wider choice in Calheta. The city of Funchal (capital) offers entertaining nightlife, traditional / modern dining and shopping experience in newly built Malls. Availability notes Saturday is our preferred changeover day. Accommodation is available from 3 pm on the day of arrival to 12 am on the day of departure although whenever possible we will try to work around this for you.

Notes to the rental rates: Rental rates are for 2 people sharing the villa. For 3rd and 4th person it is € 105 / £70 per person per week. Reservations: A 30 % non-refundable deposit must accompany all bookings to obtain confirmation. Balance of rental is payable eight weeks before arrival date, further information will be given in our booking form. A refundable deposit of € 225 / £150 is required for damages, breakages, keys and remote control. We recommend our guests to take out travel insurance.
Master Bedroom (large doube bed with comfortable solid mattress) has french windows that opens out and leads onto the veranda overlooking the pool and the Atlantic inviting you to read or just relax in the shade of a sunny afternoon. Bedroom 2 (double bed / twin beds when requested) has french windows that opens out and leads into the garden with village views.
Log fireplace situated in the dinning room (no charge for the logs). Maid service 3 times per week (english spoken). Due to the pool and verandas for safety reasons we recommend parental supervision at all times where young children are concerned. Wireless ADSL Broadband is available at € 15 per week payable at the Villa to our representative. Hairdryer is provided however we request that guests provide beach towels for the sun beds. Please bring your own DVDs, Cd's. A large garden dining table and a hammoch are available. For Bird life and Sea life enthusiasts we recommend our guests to pack a pair of binoculars.
An appointed English spoken representative will meet and greet you on arrival to familiarise with the villa and surrounding area, she will be available should you encounter any difficulties. Guest and information book is available. Maid service provided three days per week. On request meet and greet at the airport € 60.00. Although a welcome pack will be provided, groceries shopping can be arranged on request (€ 30 plus cost of shopping payable on arrival). Bookings can be organized for guided walks/excursions/ deep-sea fishing/sport activities/typical Madeira nights with folklore / car rental and others independently with our representative. Dining room has a log fire for the winter season and additional oil filled radiators throughout. There is also a window seating area in the dining room looking out onto the entrance garden. By the pool side there is a heated shower. Outside of the barbecue there is a large patio with wall and overhead lights and a dining area for eight. The villa is fitted with an alarm system and electric remote control gates. The garden area consists of over 1400sqm and is illuminated throughout. Although the property consists of two floors, only the first floor is available for rental as the ground floor is being used for storage. Dear Mr Castanho, Just to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Madeira. Your villa and gardens are beautiful and the best we have ever stayed in, we had a very chilled out holiday. The view and sunsets are magnificent and your swimming pool was excellent, we used the pool most evenings as it was very hot around 6 pm which we found very strange but it was a lovely way to relax after being out during the day. Your housekeeper Maria keeps your villa spotless and she was very pleasant. We found Marta to be very helpful and she was very informative when she showed us around your villa, she also gave us lots of information on places to visit. We will definitely be back, soon I hope.
