You can reach Casa Katja in less than a half hour drive from the Faro airport. You will not be staying in the tourist areas, but rather the destination is found in the first rises in the northern direction where sand and stone meet. From here you can look down to the Atlantic whose silvery shimmering sometimes appears to be unreal. The view to the west encompasses the soft, mountainous region; to the north you will see the small city of Loulé located before the mountains of the hinterland. You can reach many destinations using the well-built streets: in the east is Tavira - from there to Faro are about 40 km of sand that make up the endless beaches on the Atlantic; driving inland you will find the nature preserve Ria Formosa. West of Casa Katja you can find the world famous large and small bays that border the coast. You can reach 'your' place on the beach with a 20 minute drive - praised golfing facilities are found nearby.
