The Riyad La Maison Nomade is situated in the quarter Sidi Benslimane in the centre of the Medina of Marrakech. Dip into its peace and enjoy the lovely ambience of the Moroccan old town house. With the stay in such old palaces, hidden in the lanes of the old part of town, you will feel gradually the charm of this mystic city. The Moroccan house is built around an inner court which supplies the necessary light for the rooms. The inner court of the traditional Riyad (arab.: garden) is divided into 4 patches. In the Riyad La Maison Nomade this is symbolized by 4 orange trees. The inner court is a wonderful place for easing, for dining or to make acquaintances. It is place of silence and freshness in the midst of a town full dust, noise and pulsating life. On the roof is a terrace.

Notes

The Riyad La Maison Nomade has a German owner. It is an over 100 years old house and was completely renovated. For the renovation the old traditional handicraft arts were used e.g. mosaic-, stucco and ‘tadelakt’. This traditional wall finery from natural materials creates a pleasant room climate and promotes a healthy sleep. The equipment of all rooms was manufactured by native craftsmen, e.g. lamps, tables and chairs from wood and iron, carpets, hand woven materials, handmade mirrors, metal and brass work.

Example 1: Trip to Essaouira

Essaouira is located only 2 driving hours away from Marrakech at the Atlantic. You will like this small port town in the southern half of Morocco. Built on a rocky peninsula and surrounded of huge walls, surprises the picturesque Medina with their pulsating Souks. For artists Essaouira is like doping. In former times the small city at the coast has stimulated musicians such as Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa and others - today above all painters, sculptors and other artists. Essaouira is considered as the most ‘unmoroccan’ city of the country.

Example 2: Trip to Tameslout

Apart of the usual tourist routes we visit with you a traditional market in the old Berber town Tameslout which is situated approx. 30 km away from Marrakech. The exotic atmosphere will inspire you, because the market happening is still as original as in the last century.

Golf information

The three golf courses of Marrakech are in only few minutes distance from the Riyad. Of course we will organize the reservation of your tee-times. Our driving service will ensure that you will be at the golf-course in time and will also pick you up on demand to return to the Riyad. Gulf players, who prefer a comfortable accommodation with local colour to the anonymous, unspectacular ‘5-Star-Hotel-Standard’, are exactly correct in La Maison Nomade with its very individual charming atmosphere.
