Crystal clear water and luxuriant vegetation, which stretches from the beach up to the heights of the hinterland, distinguish the countryside around the famous small mountain town of Maratea. Idyllic and yet unbelievably lively – especially at night -, Maratea with its narrow alleys, piazzas, bars and exquisite restaurants still spreads the magic of the Mezzogiorno. And above all this, visible form afar, towers the statue of the Messiah on top of the Monte di San Biagio. By the way: The Cilento national park is only 30 km away. Nearest train station: Maratea.
