Charming country-style small villa in Castelraimondo, the Marches in Central Italy, surrounded by a beautiful well-kept park with a variety of plants and flower beds of 3,600 m², located on a hill with a magnificent view over the surrounding hills. The house is situated 15 minutes from the medieval town of Camerino, 45 minutes from the Adriatic Sea (Porto Recanati), 1 - 1.5 hrs from Assisi, Perugia and Trasimeno Lake. The house is structured on two floors with two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and two toilets. The house is furnished in local country-style with accurately restored furniture. Ideal for up to four people.
The small town of Castelraimondo, 5,000 inhabitants and 2,5 km away, has no sightseeing appeal. However it is well equipped with all sorts of shops, supermarkets, banks, and cafés where you will be able to relax and sit outside over a cappuccino or taste the best ice-cream in the region - for which Castelraimondo is rightly famous. Castelraimondo, though, is strategically located to set out on a variety of sightseeing tours. Please see the section 'Things to do'.

Arrivals - Departures: High season - arrival on Saturday: after 4 p. m. High season - departure on Saturday: no later than 10 a. m. During low season, departure time and arrival time are negotiable. * High season embraces the period June 1 - September 30, and medium-low season covers the rest of the year. Firewood for the fireplace: Please consider that Casa Caruccia's owner does not supply the firewood. 'No smoking': Casa Caruccia is a 'no smoking' lodging. If you wish to smoke, you are kindly requested to do it outside.
The kind of vacation offered by Casa Caruccia is based on the rediscovery of the simple values of the past and on a full immersion in nature. The greenery surrounding the house – a well kept park with a variety of plants and flowers - and the view over the surrounding hills – the only visible building is an ancient castle – convey a feeling of deep peace. There are three outdoor living areas near the house: one, right in front of it, is equipped with a rural style table and benches that will allow you to dine outside, and two are patio-like balconies with a pergola and climbing plants where you will be able to relax in the shadow - the only sound breaking the silence being that of the crickets. *** If you have children, you can take them swimming not far away: There are two swimming pools: at the University Sport Center in Camerino, 7 km away; in San Severino Marche, 10 km away.
Things to do
Although nearby Castelraimondo (2,5 km from Casa Caruccia) has no tourist appeal, it lies close to a number of historical places, dating back to the Middle Ages. The beautiful university town of Camerino, located on the top of a hill and with its many recurring cultural events, is only 12 km away, and history-rich San Severino, Matelica and Fabriano are just half an hour away by car, whereas Visso is an hour away. Visso is one of the medieval jewels of southern Marche, little known because it's located off the beaten tourist track. If you like opera, Macerata houses the third most important opera house in Italy and lies only 40 km away. The attractive sea-side town of Porto Recanati, on the Adriatic coast, is 45 minutes away driving time. Excellent mountain bike trails and walks among alpine flora are available in the Monti Sibillini National Park, 80 km away. The well-known Frasassi Caves are 40 km away. Last, but not least, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno are 1,5 hours away.
Feng Shui: living in harmony with the surroundings
The owner of Casa Caruccia - a farmhouse dating back to the early 18th century - had it fully restored by a local architect in 1997-1998, using exclusively natural and local building materials and trying to apply the principles of Feng Shui architecture and home interior design. Feng Shui literally 'wind and water', an ancient Chinese art dating back to the third century AD, embraces the idea of living in harmony with the environment. The goal of Fen Shui is to encourage a natural flow of positive energy from the surroundings to the house. Has it ever occurred to you to experience a positive feeling of well-being when you are in a building? The ancient Chinese called this feeling 'positive Feng Shui'. Castelraimondo is the seat of the internationally renowned Italian language school 'Dante Alighieri', that specializes in teaching Italian to foreigners.
