Guardistallo is a small village in the upcountry, approx. 12 km from the sea and from the Etruscan coast. The main attraction of the coast is the Marchionneschi Theatre, built in 1880. In the center of the village, you can find restaurants for all tastes, with typical Tuscany delicacies. A small grocery store, a pharmacy, and a bank are also at your disposal. Archaeological excavations certify the Etruscan origins of the region, yet its name 'Wachstelle' (watching place) seems to date back to the reign of the Langobards. The name describes very well the strategic location of Guardistallo, which seems to dominate the entire Cecina valley with its hill top position. The wonderful location surrounded beach (12 km), hills covered by vine and olive groves and extended pine woods at the sea make the Etruscan coast on of the most favoured vacation destination. The world wide known cultural city of Tuscany can easily be reached.

Vine growing region
The region of Guardistallo has been constantly associated with wine. The cultivation of vine goes back to the times of the Etruscans. The community takes place at the traditional union “Strada del vino Costa degli Etruschi” (“the wine street”). This wine street can be divided in 3 DOC regions (controlled original label): DOC- Montescudaio, DOC- Bolgheri and DOC- Val di Cornia. The wine growers make real ‘masterpieces’ here, which are counted among the best wines in the world.
