A road winds its way up the hill to the 'Castello delle Quattro Torri', the Castle of the Four Towers. The visitor approaching from Siena will be able to spot this medieval castle from far away, perched on the top of the hill, towering above the Tuscan countryside. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the latter still used to produce the delicious Chianti wine, we see the four red brick towers, now classified as a national monument. Here you can find a very romantic accommodation for a couple or a small family. Across the small and romantic courtyard, the stairs provide access to the first floor. The apartment is furnished and designed in harmony with the historic ambience: you won't find the blatantly imposing and luxurious elegance of the feudal (Baroque) castles that were built later on, but rather a comfortable rural interior in line with the history of this castle that dates back to the Middle Ages..
The castle is only 3 km away from the Piazza del Campo. You can reach Siena even without a car. There is a bus stop 1.3 km away. During the day buses go to the centre every 15 minutes and every 30 minutes in the evening.
