Unique panorama extending to the northern coast of Sardinia and to Korsika for our villa (1076 sq. feet) in the midst of nature (2,5 acres natural park) and all of it only for you. At a distance of only a few minutes (3 to 6 by car) you have a large choice of unspoiled sand beaches: Our commune boasts more than 15 miles of coast, of which 12 miles is sand beaches. A secluded cove, the way to which is known by only a few, lies close to your holiday home (20 min by foot). The natives of Sardinia are themselves impressed with the location of the house. But you alone can enjoy it in peace, on the bamboo covered terrace (376 sq. feet) where a pleasant breeze blows, like a refreshing shower in the summer. The entire house is designed with the view, that one can see Korsika, the Bay of Capo Testa, the Gallura Mountains even from the backyard (paved with natural stones, with flowers and fireplace/barbecue). The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, one large living room with fireplace and a kitchen.

Till November it is beach weather in Sardinia, where you can, alone or with your family, enjoy the cove near the house and swim or dive without any disturbance. Monti Ruiu lies at a distance of 3,7 miles from Vignola, the tourist village lies right by the sea, with many sand beaches and an antique tower, 2 bars, restaurants and pizzeria, grocery stores. There are 2 camping places there, which offer courses for wind surfing and sailing, tennis courts, newspapers and animation for the children in the evening. Aglientu, a typical Sardinian village with church, fountains, and a weekly summer festival, is located in the mountains at a distance of 9 miles from the house. Travel along the coast towards Santa Teresa, buy groceries, souvenirs, and your favourite newspaper in this typical city with flair and possibly make a trip to Korsika (45. min journey). An art market takes place in Santa Teresa in the summer evenings after 9 pm. The owners gladly give you all the tips.

Notes to the rental rates: The rates are for the whole house for up to four persons. A surcharge of 40 € per night is charged for the fifth person (valid for the whole year except winter, read later). Not included in the rates: Final cleaning: 80 €. Laundry package 15 € per person/package. Security deposit: 250 €, refundable to the tenant immediate after the rent period. No charge for dogs and cats and they are welcome! Payment: 1/3 of the rent with confirmation of booking, the remaining 60 days before the start of the rent. Please notice: outside the Euro zone, the tenant pays the cost of money transfer. Winter (1st of December 2008 till 31th March 2009): the price indicated for the winter period includes unlimited good heating in all rooms. In the winter period (1st of December till 31th of March 2009) you have no rental price surcharge for the fifth person.
In Sardinia it is difficult to find a house with central-heating. It will be very pleasant for you to have this heating, especially during the Christmas and New Year's Eve period. Also if you practice water-sports, it will be nice for you to come back to a well-heated home in the evening! Our special offer for the winter-period (see our rental rates) with heating in every room, also the two bathrooms, is very convenient.
The bedrooms offer marvelous views (sea, mountains, garden, courtyard, fantastically unique rock formations) and peaceful sleep. Two rooms have an antique table with chairs and all have cupboards. Outer doors made of natural wood everywhere facilitating air-flow (pleasant night temperatures). You can directly access the terrace from the front bedroom, to e.g. enjoy the sunrise. There are few mosquitoes in Monti Ruiu (hill station with fresh breeze) but one mosquito is enough to rob you of your sleep. Therefore, all double-bed rooms have large cabin mosquito nets (which we have imported from Samoa). The single beds have a tent-shaped mosquito net. All rooms are white-washed; there are Terracotta tiles in the double bedroom (sea facing) from Impruneta (Tuscany) just like in the entire living room. Beautiful peaceful dreams in Monti Ruiu, far away from the otherwise usual holiday noise! Listen to the flaps of the buzzards flying past! In the winter period: central gas heating.
Both bathrooms (with windows) have beautiful flagstone and flat tiles almost up to the ceiling and boast a large wall-mirror with beautiful lamps, which impart an antique flair. You have a direct view extending right up to Corsica from the bigger bathroom. From the smaller bathroom the view spreads over lovely flowers (in large Terracotta flower-pots) up to the Gallura mountains. The outdoor shower is situated in the immediate proximity to the children’s bedroom in the southern part of the house. Hot-water is available in both the bathrooms. Outdoors shower: cold water. Kitchen: The kitchen appliances are new (Easter 2007). Various dishes, pots, good pans and one large refrigerator especially for you. For you in the house: special light duvets for the summer, also other Wool-duvets for the winter.

3 teak-wood dining tables, two on the terrace, one in the courtyard and one smaller teak-wood table for the drinks are placed outdoors. The laundry package (bed linen, towels, dish towels, table-sets, etc., 10 pieces in all) are provided at a rate of 15 € per package/person. All windows and doors have handmade Sardinian linen curtains (see living room photo). A selection of German/English books, maps of Sardinia and CD's are provided for the guests in the living room. Not on the photo: large couch for 4 people. Also : Cot, ironing board, electric iron, hair dryer, 2 kitchen blenders, one American coffee machine, one toaster, one lemon squeezer, a large selection of crockery, glasses, etc. The deckchairs in the courtyard (4 pieces) are made of teak-wood and have an upholstered white cotton cover. A large white sun umbrella is provided for the guests in the courtyard. For the fireplace/barbecue: firewood provided in large quantities (Free of cost!). Winter: central heating in all rooms.
The exclusive combination of the solid structure of the house, its varied natural landscape and panoramic views is unrivalled. The tenant has a large piece of 2,5 acres of marvelous natural landscape at his sole disposal: meadows, shady trees, varied granite rock formations, one large pink-hued granite rock plateau, paths with unique views of the sea and mountains as well as shady resting places. For the children it is like one wonderful gigantic playground! The house lies on a hill at a height of 100 yards above sea level, therefore its unique panoramic view. The advantage: almost constant air-flow. You relax! The house is well isolated (double isolation layers): In summer, the house has a pleasant temperature. In winter, central heating in the whole house at a very good price (see our rates). The house has a good administration, avoiding the language barrier and uncertainties for many tenants. We ourselves help our guests with tips, for the most affordable rates for Italian ferries.

The owner is very familiar with the surroundings and the offers of the Gallura market. There are many tips for our tenants from the very start: Where do you find the best fish? The best wine? The best of fresh pasta and cheese? Farm-fresh fruits and vegetables? Through this not only does your holiday get more beautiful but also more surer right from day one. You save a lot of time and money. You can buy all natural products and Sardinian specialties not far from the house (3 minutes by car). The house is ideal for families with children. The property offers an almost inexhaustible potential for adventure games. No more fear: There are no poisonous snakes in Sardinia! For children, who love cats: They come over from the farm (110 yards) from time to time. Those who seek a house right on the beach: The house is out of the question. But the bars/restaurants play loud music till late on the beach. As against that, our house offers exquisite peace. Grocery stores in Vignola: 3,7 miles.
The secluded beach cove: inviting
We do not know any bay in Gallura, which is as ‘private’ as this! Our tenants have the option, to reach a beach (less than a mile) not open to the public (see photo) in 20 minutes by foot over a subsurface road. You are almost always alone here and you can explore the bays lying under this in the crystal-clear water (terrific for diving and snorkelling). A large choice of other charming beaches can be reached within 3 to 6 minutes by car. You have no trouble finding the beach, unlike with unfortunately many other holiday destinations in North Sardinia. The tenants of Monti Ruiu have a guarantee that they can always reach a charming beach which is not over crowded, within the shortest time. On the other hand you always have the option to reach the sports, recreation and shopping facilities in Vignola (3,7 miles) within 6 minutes by car. For persons interested in swimming in a swimming-pool: Mirice (3,7 miles), and Rena Majore (7,5 miles) from the house.
