The Cilento National Park offers an incredible variety of destinations. Very worth a visit to the excavation of ancient sites, such as Pompeii, Paestum or Herculaneum, and the Greek philosopher's school Elea-Velia. You should also visit the Certosa of San Lorenzo (Padula). Also for lovers of unspoiled nature, there is a lot to discover. Whether it is the formal richness of the coast, with its many caves and the mountainous hinterland of both offers as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Biosphere Reserve-even rare animal and plant species are protected refuge.
Motorboat rentals and boat trips
At the port and at the Lentiscelle Beach (located at the southeast end of town), there is the possibility to rent motor boats (without boat-driving licenc in Italy to 40 PS), to the picturesque coastline to explore. Highly recommended! Boat trips on local fishing boats with a visit to the numerous caves and bathing stop at one of the lonely, accessible only by sea beaches are offered at the port.
