Jacks Cottage - Charming, comfortable and spacious 18th century thatched fisherman's cottage
Riverside garden, frequent sighting of otters, canoe, hot tub & sauna available.
You will have to travel a long way to find a more peaceful, romantic and secluded location for your holiday. The long, narrow lane that leads to the cottage takes you away from the paved road and leads you into a different world: one in which the loudest sounds are made by pheasants in the surrounding fields or the cormorants on the river, where you can see otters and salmon in the wild, and all kinds of birds being busy around you while you unwind in this charming house and riverside garden. The recently redecorated cottage and the surroundings, especially the traditional fireplace with its bellows, will allow you to rediscover life's simple pleasures. The cottage is perfect for nature lovers and artists, fishermen and walkers. Well-behaved pets are welcome. The use of the hot tub and sauna is available by appointment and there is also a canoe for exploring the river.
There are abundant beaches and coves to explore nearby, as well as mountains and hills to be climbed. Historic towns and castles can be visited, and there are many memorable meals to enjoy. Discover some Irish culture in the nearby music pubs and Irish speaking area.

What an amazing, awe-inspiring, peaceful place on earth. We had an incredible weekend of hiking, canoning, nature watching and listening and simply relaxing. There is no question in our minds that we will be back...and not in the too distant future. Thank you so much for everything.

What a paradise, so peaceful, quiet and love the view over the reeds to the river. I came here stressed and go away feeling much better. Bridie, Ben and family your cottage, surrounds and hospitality are priceless. Thank you.
