Our traditional and tastefully furnished farmhouse cottage has its own entrance. It is quietly located amidst greenery, just 3 miles from Ballydehob. Our house is a good starting point for all sorts of activities. The grounds are surrounded by mature trees and a wood with a stream running through. It is ideal walking country with beautiful views over Roaring Water Bay and wooded hills and valleys.
Bantry is the next large town. It is a 20-minute drive away and has a harbour, a cinema, shops, pubs and restaurants. West Cork has been called a 'Jewel of Ireland' and 'a place apart'. It is certainly a region that exudes alluring Irish charm to all who would explore her shores and hinterland. This area of unspoilt and outstanding beauty is lapped by the fresh Atlantic ozone - making her clean environment a balm to those seeking respite from the industrialised centres of Europe. Within this temperate climate, governed by the warm Gulf Stream from Florida that clips the West Cork peninsulas, there continues a way of life that has remained unaltered. Each village, e. g. Ballydehob, Schull, Skibbereen and Baltimore, express their unique identities by staying in touch with their original traditions. It’s a tribute to West Cork that renowned poets, writers, film producers, actors and artists have made their homes here. Prominent among them is Ireland's first ‘poet laureate’, John Montague.

West Cork Beauty
From April to October the hedgerows and fields 'dance' with a profusion of scarlet fuscias, violets, purple foxgloves and meadowsweet, along with an abundance of wild garlic, honeysuckle, ragged-robin, wood sorrel, primrose, harebell and any number and variety of common wayside flowers, including orchid, vetch and heather. The ubiquitous lily - montbretia - with its iridescent orangy-yellowy-red is a visual feast. For ramblers with a practiced eye and those awakening to the simple but exciting pleasures of country walking, West Cork has some of the most delightful nature trails and well prepared and sign-posted walks for the hungry seekers of natural beauty. Of Ireland's many visitors, very few have managed to leave without falling in love with her at first sight and this is particularly true of West Cork with its wild and rugged coastline. All this beauty exerts a magical charm that captivates and caresses with a very restful and restorative balm.
There are many good golf courses within an easy distance of our cottage. These being Bantry, Schull, Skibbereen and Glengarriff.
Guest book
“ Thank you again for the warm welcome you gave us last Saturday. We really enjoyed our holiday and got many new fantastic impressions of Ireland. Best wishes, Benjamin and Beate.”, Halle. ** Your cottage is very beautiful and built with patience and love - just a dream to spend the holiday there. Werner, Klaus& Tina Porsche, Niederstotzingen. The cottage is ideally located for excursions to the countryside of Cork & Kerry and its wonderful coastline. Also the cottage is more beautiful than the website photos and it is so quiet. A big compliment to Jim & Felicity for their friendliness & help when asked for & in no way importunate. Gabi & Anton, Stuttgart. We spent two wonderful weeks in the cottage of Jim & Felicity who gave us a warm welcome. Often we got new laid eggs from their free range hens. We enjoyed the comfortable cottage which is a perfect place for trips into the beautiful landscapes of West Cork.We had a relaxing time and the weather was great. Rene & Stefanie, Berlin.
