Notes
The plans of the house are available on request. The bedrooms are laid at the ends of the house and the reception areas are in between, offering privacy between the compartments. The large courtyard extents the whole front of the house and almost every room has access to it. The dining room is furnished with two stylish couch beds, converted to single beds and can be joined with the master bedroom or be opened to the sitting room, enlarging the reception areas. The roof terrace is reached by an outdoor staircase or by the interior wooden stair of the top double bedroom. The large bedroom is on the ground level followed by a shower bathroom. It has direct access to the courtyard in front. The next room in line is the dining room with two stylish couches that can be converted into single beds. At the other far end of the house there is the single bedroom with an interior wooden staircase that leads to the upper double bedroom. Underneath the staircase there is the second shower bathroom.
The house is ideal for people looking for privacy, deep relaxation and sea activities. As the village is built against a steep slope car access is restricted to certain points. The house is surrounded by walkways with easy access to a road (50 m away) with parking space. The village consists mainly of houses in some of which can still be found donkeys, chicken, cats, etc. It has not been exploited touristicy since there is an active cultural society aiming at sustainable development. The village has been famous for its healthy, dry climate and in past time as a healing place for tuberculosis. It is surrounded by forests, has many natural water springs (from where Anatoli takes water) and many places of natural beauty to explore, either by walking, by mountain bike or by car. There’s the possibility of joining group excursions to sites of natural beauty, history or archaeology and traditional villages as well as a car rental service in Ierapetra, receiving and leaving you at the airport
Eating out-swimming
There is a small restaurant on the main road of the village with simple, Cretan food (inexpensive) while two kilometres away is an open air restaurant with exquisite food and environment (set against a rocky slope with huge trees, water spring and views to the sea). Half way to Ierapetra there is another restaurant, set against a huge rock, with equally excellent food. Other picturesque restaurants are to be found in the neighbouring villages (Malles, Kalamafka, etc.) while cosmopolitan cafes, bars, restaurants and pizza parlours are to be found in Ierapetra and Myrtos. Since Ierapetra is without port, part of its waterfront is transformed into an esplanade with cafes and restaurants, while the rest has kept its sandy beach with clear, shallow waters, beyond which extent restaurants with savoury Greek food (Napoleon the best among them). 25 km of sandy beach extend to the east of Ierapetra (listed as one of the 10 best of Crete) with gulfs, restaurants, villages, etc.
