It is located in the Community of Themis, one of Greece’s most prestigious seashore neighbourhoods, convenient to the airport and downtown Athens. Our vacation rental sleeps up to 12 in a single-family, air-conditioned home with 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, laundry room, living room, library, dining room, atrium, sea side balconies, kitchen, breakfast nook and swimming pool. All balconies overlook the sea; perfect for romance with the reflection of the full moon on the sea, a little wine, and soft music. Why drive to the beach? Villa Sxinias is in the planned community of Themis Schinias in a natural setting on the Aegean Sea. Themis extends along a mountainous coast line within the Schinias National Environmental Park located in the township of Marathon which is the north eastern corner of the Athens suburban area. Marathon is world famous for the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC between the Greeks and the Persians and for instituting the Marathon Run as an Olympic event at the time of the revival of the Olympic Games in 1896. Downtown Athens (Acropolis, Olympic Stadium, etc.) is 25 miles (40 km), about an hour’s drive in traffic if you take the expressways; longer if you drive the local streets. The airport is only 13 miles by air but 32 miles (50 km) by car requiring about a 55 minute drive in traffic via expressways.

Our master bedroom, on the southwest corner of the house, has an entrance chamber for privacy, queen size bed, walk-in closet & private bathroom. 3 windows overlook the sea and the cove below and a sliding glass opens onto a private balcony. The southern side of the house has 2 additional bedrooms that share a hall bathroom. Each has a sliding glass door opening onto a large common balcony overlooking the swimming pool and Aegean Sea. One bedroom has 2 single beds and the other has a double bed. The guest bedroom with a queen size bed and its own private bathroom is on the north side of the house. It has a private exterior entrance that opens onto a garden patio viewing the sea. Interior windows with Byzantine grills for privacy overlook the atrium below. A window on the southern side provides a glimpse of the sea; another window overlooks the garden. The library is easily converted into a 5th bedroom with a half bath for private needs.
The vacation rental has 3 and a half bathrooms. The master bathroom, with its walls and floor of green and tan ceramic tiles, has a large walk-in full body shower of glass brick with a marble bench for attending to personal needs. The Guest bathroom is located within the guest bedroom for privacy. Its white shell pedestal lavatory compliments the rose and white ceramic tiles of its shower, walls, and floor. The hall bathroom is of blue and white ceramic tiles and has a built-in tub with shower. The half bath, the power room, is on the living room level of the house and opens into the library area. It has a rose marble curvilinear vanity complimenting its red Venetian Plaster walls and white marble floor. A laundry room with a clothes washer and dryer is located adjacent to the guest bathroom.

The house has a laundry room located on the bedroom level with a clothes washer and dryer. A gas grill is located on a patio next to the swimming pool for out door cook-outs. A table and chairs for sitting 10 are adjacent to the grill. Also, a table is located on the balcony next to the kitchen, if you prefer to enjoy the beautiful sea and island views while dining.

Sleeping for up to 12 people is easily accommodated (8 in the 4 bedrooms and 2 in the library with its powder room for privacy). If you prefer, 2 fold-away beds are available as well as a baby cot. The swimming pool is below the living level and surrounded on three sides by a patio and terrace. The southern side overlooks the Aegean Sea. A gas grill is available for outdoor cookouts. We have plenty of lawn furniture for sun bathing and outdoor relaxation. Access to the pool is lockable at your option if you have small children. Bed linen, bath towels, beach towels, and hygienic items are included. The house is air conditioned and has central heat. The windows have screens. Dial-up internet access. Free loan of a mobile telephone.
