Our charming, non-smoking holiday home 'Neckar-view’, which has been awarded 3 stars by DTV, is at a walking distance of only 15 minutes from the old town and is surrounded by gardens. Feel comfortable in a familiar atmosphere. There is a travel bed for children. Furthermore, the 55 m² apartment boasts facilities like: football table, table-tennis, GameCube, washing machine, dryer, dish washer, fully automated coffee machine, electric kettle, TV with cable connection, DVD player, mini stereo, several personal tips for recreational activities and of course the guaranteed view of the Neckar and Odenwald. Destinations which can be easily reached by foot are: Castle ruins – 30 min, Old Heidelberg University – 25 min, Subway station – 10 min, bus stop to the city and to the Neckar valley – 1 min, the historical pub ‘ZUM ROTEN OCHSEN’- 15 min, the Philosopher’s Way, which should be visited once by everyone who wishes to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Heidelberg University – 40 min.

Take advantage of our favourable location as a starting point for your excursions in the Neckar valley; without your car and completely stress-free. Heidelberg is close to two of Europe’s long-distance trails, which are at our doorstep. Hike in Odenwald or in the Kraichgau beyond Neckargemünd, Neckarsteinach & to several other well-known destinations on the Hausberg. Furthermore, you can visit the castle, the Zollstock, the Thingstätte (Thing site, an Amphitheater built after the Third Reich), the Stephankloster (Stephan's cloister), the St. Michael's Basilica (both ruins), the Molkenkur, the Königsstuhl (King's chair) and the Heidenloch as well as the ruins of the Celtic Ringwalls in Heiligenberg. You can of course start your tours here with the mountain bike or the conventional bicycle. You can also rent bicycles in Heidelberg which is approx. 20 min. away. We will gladly give you tips here as well as before your arrival on request. Bicycle trail and hiking trail maps are provided.

Notes to the rental rates: The rent per night for a stay of 3 to 6 nights is 70 €. The rent for a stay of more than 7 nights is 60 € per night. From 4 weeks onwards, the rent is 55 € per night. We levy a one-time final cleaning charge of 35 €. Other additional costs for water, electricity and heating are already included in the rent.
There is a charge of 5 € per person per stay for hand towels. Likewise, bed linen is also charged 5 € per person per stay.

We have a large and comfortable sofa-bed for 2 persons in the sunny living-bedroom and a double bed in a separate bedroom. If required, the available travel bed can be used as an extra bed for children. In this case, we can occupy 5 persons of course without any extra charge.
Bed linen and hand towels can be obtained on request for an additional charge. The bright apartment has laminates, floorboards and parquet flooring. There is a seating area outdoors where you can sit in the evenings, perhaps with a glass of wine, after a stressful day and enjoy the view of Neckar and Odenwald far away from the traffic noises. Pets are permitted on request. The kitchen which is equipped with various electronic equipments and lots of crockery leaves nothing more to be desired. You can even purchase small everyday commodities at reasonable prices in case you have forgotten to bring them along and need them at short notice. For example, home-made marmalade, beer, wine, water, milk, coffee, tinned sausage. A small surprise awaits your arrival!
Heidelberg castle with its gardens and Pharmaceutical Museum, historical old town with its alley ways, several street cafes, various restaurants and pubs. Kurpfalz museum, Old University with its historic auditorium, several churches, shopping on the main street, Philosopher’s Way, old bridges, travel the historic trails by shank’s mare. Travel with the solar boat or the white floats in the famously sung about Neckar valley, Heiligenberg with Heidenloch, Bismarck tower, Zollstock, the ruins of the Celtic settlement and Stephankloster (Stephan’s cloister) as well as St. Michael’s basilica, Thingstätte (Thing site), ‘Weißen Stein’ restaurant. The following in the neighbouring regions can be visited by train, by foot, by car or by bicycle: Neckarsteinach of the four standing medieval castles, the walled town of Dilsberg, Weinheim with its 2 castles and wonderful historic city centre, Speyer with its Kaiserdom cathedral and historic old town and Schwetzingen with its castle gardens.
Day-trips with children
You have the following options for stress-free excursions with children: Adventure and Nature Trails to Königsstuhl which can be reached by car, bus or via the historic mountain railway. You can visit the newly formed Heidelberg Zoo, the Heidelberg Castle, Neckarwiese and its mallard ducks, swans, bald coots as well as the swan geese and the playground there (water sports possible in summer) for the children, in one of the two outdoor pools or in the terrace pool in Neckargemünd, e.g. directly by bus without disembarking anywhere else. You can visit Luisenpark in Mannheim by train or by car. You can also visit the three standing medieval castles in Neckarsteinach by train or by car. If the weather is bad, you can visit Jumpin in Heidelberg or go to one of the 2 indoor swimming pools, visit one of the 3 cinemas, the Automobile & Technology Museum in Speyer or Sinsheim as well as the Imax 3D cinema, the Pharmacy Museum in the castle or play mini-golf.
