Decorated in 'clean rustic' style with brocante objects and furniture, the house has lovely rooms in which to relax and entertain; a large sunny sitting room opening onto a courtyard, a dining room with fireplace, and a cathedral ceiling kitchen-conservatory (fully equipped for enthusiastic cooks) with a family dining area under a glass roof. The doors fold open fully onto the landscaped pool and deck area. (See notes on pool). There is a second, smaller cosy sitting room with internet connection, books and games and off the kitchen is the utility room with WC/changing room. The 4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms are spread over 3 floors (2 en suite) with the ground floor bedroom opening onto the enclosed courtyard.

Gouville-sur-mer is situated on the west coast of the Normandy peninsular. About an hour from Cherbourg and 1hr 30 from Caen, it's easy to reach. Well placed for cultural outings such as Mont St Michel, the Normandy Landings, The Bayeux Tapestry and so many activities and sports on offer; golf (see notes on golf), karting, forest adventure, horse riding on the beach, kite surfing and much more. Gouville has a twice weekly market and all usual amenities. The beautiful beach, flat and sandy, is only 5 minutes away. Agon Coutainville (10 mins) has restaurants on the beach and summer entertainment. Coutances (10 mins) has an annual jazz festival. The pretty port of Granville (40 min. south) offers chic shopping and the Christian Dior museum. Picturesque Barneville Carteret (40 min. north) has a Michelin rosette restaurant and trips to Jersey. Our part of the coast is a particularly welcoming area of Normandy; child friendly with plenty to see and do for all ages. More info available.

Balance to pay 2 months before arrival date together with € 500 security deposit. Arrival day Saturday but flexible. Check-in between 16.00 - 22.00. Check-out 10.00. All bed linen, bath and pool towels provided. Winter central heating (under-floor) included. The pool is available for use mid May to end September. Pool heating not included. The house sleeps 9 comfortably. A cot and child's fold out bed is also available.

For those who prefer ground floor bedrooms; we have a spacious ground floor bedroom with twin beds and en suite shower room. This has sliding doors opening on to the courtyard.
THE POOL AND DECK AREA: The pool is 10m by 4.5 m and 1m 40 deep throughout. It is treated with UV light to provide an excellent untainted quality of water. The wooden decking area is about 80m² and surrounds the pool on 3 sides. There is no diving board. The pool and deck can be completely closed off to young children by closing and locking the doors from the kitchen-conservatory. The doors which open onto the courtyard do not lead to the pool. We have a few pool rules which are for your safety. The rental rates do not include pool heating. The pool can be heated for a supplement and please note that the pool is available from mid May to end of September. The outside space for this property does not include a garden but an enclosed courtyard and wooden decking around the pool. The absence of grass keeps the pool water clean.
We welcome children of all ages so do ask questions regarding safety in the house, courtyard and pool area especially if you have very young children.
The house is 10 minutes from Coutainville Golf Club - a particularly friendly club with good restaurant, golf coaching and regular competitions for all. Other clubs: Golf de Omaha Beach, Golf de Vire, Golf Club des Ormes. We can book tee times.
