You reckon you have found a holiday home in Mont Saint Michel bay? In reality you have found a real old French style 1292 sqf large house with parquet flooring, terracotta and beamed-ceilings over 2 floors which provides you with a comfortable living standard similar to home. The 3 bedrooms have their own individual charm. Only the very best Limoges or antique porcelain, wine and champagne glasses and soup bowls are provided for you. This stone house was built in 1826 and was renovated in 1999. It offers a great standard of comfort (5 sofas, 2 stereo systems, hundreds of books, 3 garden benches etc). Furniture is for the most part restored antiques. The garden (2690 sqf), surrounded by a high stone wall, is super romantic with roses, old trees and even a large palm tree. The large undisturbed beach in Dragey is less than a mile from the house and is reachable via a small, quiet country road. From Genets (2 miles) you can reach Mont Saint-Michel (with guide) via the mud flats (4 miles).

A beautiful holiday experiences that France has to offer is the mud flat walking from Genets (2 miles from Dragey) to Mont Saint Michel (4.3 miles). Book the tour from our neighbour Olivier who lives directly across from the house. Dragey is also one of the most famous racehorse breeding areas in France. Many large affordable riding clubs in the area (St Pierre Langers, 5.5miles, Avranches, 9.3 miles) and cross country trekking tours along the ocean with a view of Mont St Michel (St Jean Le Thomas, 2 miles). 1 of the most beautiful coastal roads leads from Dragey above the bay of Mont Saint Michel to Granville. Here at the Saturday market you find the best fresh oysters and mussels (reasonable prices). Eat seafood in 1 of the restaurants in the marina or drink cider in a bar in the old part of town which is located on higher ground, while your children enjoy sailing and windsurfing in the Granville sailing club. Day trips to Jersey and Guernsey also possible. D-day beaches: 90 Minutes.

Notes to the rental rates: The prices are for five people and rental of the whole house including the garage. Heating costs and other normal surcharges are all accounted for. Not included in the price: Final cleaning charge 80 Euro, deposit 250 Euro which will be returned at the end of the rental period. 1/3 of the rental price must be paid when the contract is completed, the rest, final cleaning charge and deposit must be paid 60 days before the rental period begins. There are packets of towels and bed linen and kitchen linen available for 15 Euro per person. For guests wo bring their own linen, measurements for bed linen/tablecloths: see under “Advice regarding furnishings. Cats and dogs stay for free and are welcome (maximum 3 pets!).
Our neighbour Olivier (official tour) offers the following prices in 2008 for the mud flat walks to Mont Saint Michel. Adults: 10 euro; Children 5 euro; You can book directly from Olivier. His wife can bring you the warm lunch or dinner at home, if you do n ot want to cook. Please ask also for babysitting, I can give you a list of babysitters.

You will sleep soundly and comfortably here. All first floor bedrooms with parquet flooring and a beamed-ceiling boast roomy wooden wardrobes and large mirrors, and have either an antique trunk, an antique table, a commode and pictures. Two bedrooms have a garden view. The large bedroom is like a salon, where you can read in comfort on a couch in the reading area while listening to music (You know the feeling when you are living in a friends place and you stumble across a hoard of books). Your children will be thrilled: in their rooms there are loads of toys to plays with, stuffed animals to fall in love with and even rocking horses. Those with babies will make use of the travel cot which is in the cupboard, a baby mattress, a baby eiderdown bed with sheets and a child lounger. On the ground floor of the house beside the living area there is also a study, with books in French, telephone, desk, wardrobe and comfortable sofa.

The bathroom has powerful showers and a large bath and a mirror. There are mirrors located throughout the house. The hot water heater in the house has a 40 Gallon capacity. The tap water in the house is drinkable (copper plumbing, fully renovated). Bathroom toys for small children are available. Horizontal pivot hung windows are installed for good air circulation.
Note for dog owners: the romantic garden (2690 square feet) is also ideal for your dog as he can't run away thanks to the nice old stone wall around the garden. Your neighbours in the village don't have any dogs which might disturb you. You will find in the holiday home a 'Guestbook' with all Tips for eating, shopping, etc., and also a list of restaurants where dogs are welcome. Heating: no additional surcharge, see the price list. We have provided the house with: Dishwasher tablets, detergent for the washing machine, cooler bags, thermos flasks, lemon squeezer, electric coffee grinder, coffee machine, toaster, coffee and tea filters etc and a hairdryer are all supplied. We also have an iron and ironing board, a vacuum cleaner, beach umbrella, garden umbrella, swimming tubes, beach toys, games, maps, cassettes and CDs. We also supply a sewing kit, washing basket, drying rails and a dog bowl. Linen for bed/bath/kitchen available (15 Eur/Person). Wish to bring your own linen? dimensions (inches) as follows, tables: Kitchen table 41x28; cherry tree wood table in living room 59x26 , table in garden 40 inches diameter, the beds have the following dimensions, large bed, fitted sheets either twice 39,4x83 (2 mattresses) or one 78,8x83; duvets: either 2 small duvet covers or 1 larger, there are more duvets available on request. The unique traditional French atmosphere of the house, which is in the family for three generations, can been experienced from the outset. That is why Mrs. Monique, who gives the guests their keys and takes care of the house, says.” The holidaymakers are always happily surprised, because they have got a lot more than they ever expected”. What she means of course is that the genuine atmosphere of the house goes above and beyond the mere description and photos. The house has a soul, which one only discovers upon entry. The guests are also pleasantly surprised during their stay when they see all of the things that are provided for them, almost like for good friends. “And afterwards they always remark that they were very happy in the house” says Mrs. Monique. That’s why guests always come back to our house and Dragey, where they had such a relaxing and enjoyable time last year.

Did you know that Mont Saint Michel is one of the most important sightseeing spots in France? Some insider advice for the summer season, drive by car to Mont Saint Michel late in the evening, so that you arrive there at 20:00 and experience the unforgettable “Son et Lumiere” (Sound and light performance) in the monastery. The later you come, the better chance you have of enjoying this performance alone. Couple your visit to Mont Saint Michel with a special gastronomic experience: Order an omelette in the “Mere Poulard” restaurant (world famous) down in the old town. A better tasting omelette does not exist! Another cultural destination of choice is the romantic abbey of La Lucerne, 6 miles from the house. After leaving the abbey you can buy many homemade specialties (jams etc) for your breakfast in Dragey.
Health spa in Granville: Relax, Thalasso therapy
Spend your time in Granville between the casino and the Christian Dior house in the “Institute Previthal” while enjoying the anti-stress spa, shiatsu, Ayurvedic massage in the “Jardin de Bien-etre”. There is a gorgeous sea view from here. Restaurant with panoramic view over the ocean and the sea over the Chausey islands. Also in the Institute Previthal is an original health spa which offers mud flat walking and thalassic therapy.
There are two golf courses in the area, Granville-Breville (20 miles from the house) and Saint Malo- Le Tronchet (43 miles from the house) “Golf de Granville” Golf pavilion 50290 Bréville sur mer.
