Only 3 hrs from Paris, it's a popular spot for the Parisians, some keeping holiday homes here for generations. Built around the turn of the century, the house is on 3 floors and decorated in shabby chic East Coast style. The main living area is on the first floor; open plan with sitting room, dining area and galley kitchen. The two terraces are great for outside dining, the lower one with a built-in barbecue, ideal for those long summer evenings. The house has a lovely atmosphere and is enjoyed by all generations. On your doorstep is the village square; restaurants, shops, markets and much more. In summer the local tourist office organises activities for all. Agon Coutainville is situated on the west coast of the Normandy peninsular, with views out to the Channel Islands and Chausey archipelago. About an hour from Cherbourg and 1 1/2 hr from Caen, it is easy to reach. Well placed for cultural outings to Mont Saint Michel, the Normandy landing beaches or the Bayeux Tapestry, or even the shopping and Christian Dior museum in Granville, or a day trip to Jersey or perhaps you would prefer to wander through the Marais, or bicycle through country lanes and explore along the seafront. There is no need to do anything - just relax into a different pace of life - go to the twice weekly market for local oysters and mussels, take in a coffee or two at a beachside cafe-bar.

There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, plus a WC on first floor. Bedrooms / bathrooms are on ground and second floor.
The first floor is the main living area. GROUND FLOOR: one room with double bed, one room with 3 single beds. Shower, wc . One large room with twin beds, en suite shower, wc. SECOND FLOOR: Spacious master bedroom with double bed, one small room with single bed (and or cot), bathroom, wc. Three bedrooms have roller shutter blinds and curtains, two have wooden shutters. All bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided. Fresh bed linen supplied weekly for long stays. Soap, toilet paper, dishwasher powder, washing up liquid, washing machine powder, assured for your arrival but you may need to replenish. All cleaning products supplied.

The accommodation is extremely flexible. The 5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms are on ground and second floor. The main living area is on the first floor. GROUND FLOOR: Table tennis room / Laundry room. FIRST FLOOR: The open plan living area. TV, DVD, comfy sofas, dining area for 10, small kitchen. The sitting room doors open onto the large terrace. A second, smaller terrace, also accessible from the kitchen, has a built in barbecue, table and chairs. The terrace wraps around 3 sides of the house and is in the sun all day. There is no garden at the property. SECOND FLOOR: Master bedroom, single bedroom (and / or cot), bathroom, wc.
The house is decorated with brocante objects and furniture found at local antique fairs and shops. Children welcome - no real antiques!
The house is about a 5 minute walk to Coutainville golf club. A particularly friendly club with regular competitions most weekends. All handicaps welcome. Prize giving Sunday. The club has a bar and good restaurant open to the public. There are many lovely golf courses and we are well placed for both Normandy and Brittany.
