You can go shopping in the 2 nearby historical towns of Melle (former silver mines used for minting royal coins, 3 Romanic churches) and Celles (abbey, near the bathing lake). There are also good markets in Niort and Saintes (Gallo-roman amphitheatre). In one hour you can reach the Atlantic coast and the city of La Rochelle (old city and port for island boat trips) as well as the nearby island of Ile de Re. In the South lies the Cote Sauvage coastline, finely sanded wide beaches and pine forests. You can visit the oyster cultivation areas in Marennes and near the island of Oleron, the zoo, ideal for children, in Palmyre and go forest hiking in St. Georges. You will find stately houses in Royan where you can take the ferry to visit the renowned wine-growing region of Medoc with its famous castles. Bordeaux is only two hours away, and West lies Poitiers and the unique Futuroscope amusement park. Goat cheese, wine, sunflower fields, chestnuts – clouds which touch the ground.

Rustic country kitchen, stone-floored entrance hall and kitchen, gas fireplace in the living room, wooden floors and beams, décor which is a cozy mix between old and new, WC/shower with washing machine and a back exit door. Wooden staircase. The bedrooms are on the first floor, bathroom with a soft acrylic corner bathtub, separate WC in the landing, carpet floors. In the loft there is a wooden staircase which leads to the mezzanine. The rooms have a bright and friendly equipment. There is a wide breakfast terrace in front of the house which looks down on the garden, from where you can reach the house bar. In the yard behind the house there are three parking lots, you enter your holiday home by walking under a flower-decked pergola. The approach to the pool is child-safe, the decorative poolscaping is made of white stone and includes a flower island. Palm trees, pine trees, olive trees and oleander will provide enough shade even on the hottest day. Comfort in a natural surrounding.
In Niort, about 20 minutes drive away and 2 minutes from the city center, ’18- hole golf course; clubs can be hired etc. Easy sporting feel as you move through straight, flat paths until you reach the gentle slope. Special maps showing cycling and hiking routes can be obtained the local bookshops.

A riding center for beginners and for the more advanced is 5 minutes away by car where riding trips are regularly organized.
Other interesting ideas
This is a central starting point for excursions to the Atlantic coast, Cognac, La Rochelle. Visit the Loire castles, the Dordogne Valley, Bordeaux and the wine-growing areas as well as Poitiers. Paris is only 2.5 hours on the TGV (departure station Niort) if you fancy a day/weekend trip.
