The surrounding farmland has fields of sunflowers in summer and apple and pear orchards with fruit in the autumn. Le Jubeau is in the commune of Préveranges, where there are two small general stores, post office, and bar. Ten minutes away is the picturesque town of Ste-Sévère-sur-Indre, with a good selection of small shops. The larger town of La Châtre is just twenty minutes away and is home to a Saturday morning market on the main square. To the south lies the market town of Boussac, dominated by its ancient château where Georges Sand is said to have discovered the original unicorn tapestries! The village's museum of rural life is open to the public during the summer months. A short drive to the north-east lies the wine-growing area centred round the town of Châteaumeillant. There is also a wonderful, large lake with fishing, water sports, picnic areas and beaches at nearby Sidiailles.

A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of your full rental fee is required to secure your booking. Checkered: 1 double bed + baby's cot (portable; may be used in other rooms). En-suite bath. There is both a charming antique cradle that can sleep infants up to about 6 months, as well as a comfortable portable child's crib/cot which may be placed in any of the double rooms. Both the cradle and the child's cot have sheets and (summer) baby blankets. There is also a roll-a-way bed that will sleep an extra child or small adult.
There are four toilets in the house - one in the master bathroom, one that is en-suite (Pink Room), one that is en-suite (checkered room - 1st floor), and a separate WC that is off the kitchen pantry.

Godin stove has six burners, including a large grill and features an electric oven. New this season: additional electric cooker and oven. All appliances are new and top of the line. Bathroom towels are provided but no pool towels, which must be supplied by the guests. Living room entertainment centre includes a stereo system with CD/DVD player, video cassette player and satellite TV featuring British and other English-language channels. Smoking is permitted on the grounds, but not in the house. The house is equipped with a telephone where guests may receive calls but only make them with a credit or phone card (available at the local supermarket). Lounge seats 8, but conservatory/solarium has seating for 4 more.
