The House is situated in the centre of a small Catalan village (hamlet of Port-Vendres). Near to rocky coves with quiet beaches at a point where the Pyrenees reach the sea. The Bay de Paulilles is our favourite swimming spot. A rocky cove with excellent swimming, snorkelling, diving or just relax and enjoy the views. The Cote Vermeille offers four holidays in one. You have the sea, the mountains, the countryside - and the Costa Brava on your doorstep. The coastline here is unlike anywhere else in the region with its rocky coves and inlets, secluded swimming places and vertiginous vine terraces, which fall away sharply to the water's edge. It is just 20 minutes on the coast road to the Spanish resort of Port Bou. The same journey in the other direction takes you to the heart of bustling Perpignan. Even closer are the vast sandy beaches of lively Argeles and the golf course at St Cyprien. You can sample the true taste of Catalan France.

Travelling
Getting here is easy with four flights a day from Stansted to Girona (Spain) just over the border - less than an hour's drive and Spanish car hire rates! Also Barcelona and Peripignan are close by. The apartment is available throughout the year.
Golf in the Area
There is a 27-hole golf course in St. Cyprien, which is about 20 minutes by car. It costs 31 Euro for 18 holes or 18 Euro for 9 holes; a half-set of clubs (6) costs 7 Euro. They also offer week-end and weekly rates. This is the closest to Port Vendre (Cosprons); there are about half a dozen courses around Girona, Spain which is about one hour south on the motorway.
