It is a bright and agreeable city apartment in neat and tidy condition. It has a living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and WC. All rooms are independent and with windows. In summer and winter there are agreeable temperatures without air-conditioning. Situated between two courtyards there is no noise of the street and it is safe as only lodgers have access. The building of the beginning of the last century is in a good condition. It is an ideal starting point to visit every place in Paris and surroundings. Situated in a charming historical avenue, green and aerated you are well supplied with small shops, supermarkets, restaurants and ‘traiteurs’. Beginning with a crisp baguette, piquant cheese and a generous wine up to an elegant dress until a dry cleaner you will find everything here. Twice a week there is a market in front of the entrance. You will really enjoy French life. On the opposite side there is a „Le Printemps“-store.

The quarter is known for example for highlights as „Promenade Plantée“ (kind of park on an ancient railway viaduct), „Viaduc des Arts“ (a series of art shops under the viaduct), the park „Bois de Vincennes“, „Palais Omnisport“, „Parc de Bercy', Bercy village etc. After a walk of only 3 minutes from your home, you are at Place de la Nation. Here is an extremely well served local traffic centre. You will find the underground lines 1, 2, 6 and 9, the high-speed underground RER line A, four bus lines (day) and one line (night). So you get in a quick and comfortable way to all historical and fashion centres of Paris. With RER A (can be used in Paris with the underground ticket) you are in 2 minutes at Gare de Lyon, in 5 minutes Châtelet-Les Halles, in 8 minutes Auber (big stores Galeries Lafayette, Le Printemps), in 12 minutes Place de l’Etoile and in 15 minutes the skyscraper centre La Défense. In the opposite direction it takes only 30 minutes to the entrance of Disneyland.

Pets are allowed in accordance with the owner. The apartment has a comfortable and quick working central heating. Thanks to the completely installed kitchen including naturally a coffee machine, you can prepare yourself your meals from good and fresh products from the market. If you don’t like cooking you may warm up prefabricated meals of the ‘traiteurs’. It becomes unfortunately more and more difficult to find good restaurants and at a reasonable price. In the bedroom you will find two single beds in high quality for vertebral column. In the living room there is a studio couch (click-clack) where two persons can sleep comfortably.
Arrival and communicationsIn due time before your arrival we will send you a description of your way of arrival – together with the instructions for the use of the apartment as well as general recommendations for your visit to Paris. There are comfortable and practical direct connexions from Roissy Airport and the railway stations. Arriving with a car is also easy, but we suggest leaving it in the recommendable guarded public basement garage just behind the apartment. It is extremely difficult to get on with a car in Paris and to find a parking place. After wrong parking the French police will very quickly let transport your car to “fourrière”. Besides tourist cars are often broken open. Paris has a mean diameter of only 10 km and is exemplary for its good local traffic system. Very quickly and comfortably you will reach every desired point in the city – the more if you can choose between lots of lines as it is possible at Place de la Nation. This should be one of your reasons to rent this apartment.
About the immediate neighbourhood of the apartmentIn 1658 Cardinal Mazarin ordered to construct a connection between Porte Saint-Antoine and Château de Vincennes. Cours de Vincennes was born. It is the pompous avenue of eastern Paris, 84 m broad. Place de la Nation, formerly Place du Trône, planned as counterpart to Place de l’Etoile has a diameter of 250 m. In 1660 here was constructed a huge throne where Louis XIV received the homage of the people of Paris. In 1794 the guillotine worked very hard on this place with about 1300 executions. Behind the nearby monastery 35, rue de Picpus (today memorial place) the victims were hastily buried. Today it is a place of memory. The 2 columns, the monumental guard-houses and the accompanying historical buildings are rests of the big customs wall around Paris. Before the French revolution the king leased for a fixed sum the custom revenues to leaseholders. Place de la Nation is today decorated with monumental sculptures of the artist Dalou representing the French Republic.
