This is a beautifully presented, air conditioned/heated contemporary villa. The villa is furnished throughout in a contemporary style. There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, with a bathroom equipped with a shower, basin and bidet and two separate toilets. There is a very large lounge equipped with TV (UK free-to-air and free-to-view channels and French terrestrial TV, or Astra analogue channels), DVD player and stereo. There are terraces at the front and back, the one on the back has a table and built-in barbecue. The bedrooms have laminated wooden floors, the rest of the house is tiled.

Perfect for a family holiday, the villa is in the heart of the Minervois, just below the walls of a 12th century chateau - there are plenty of opportunities for cycling and hiking, from the Canal du Midi to the Parc Naturel Regional du Haut Languedoc. A walk through the vineyards down to the neighbouring village of Oupia and back is a lovely way to spend an evening. There are many vineyards in the area - how about a tasting tour (by bike)? If you want water, and lots of it, there is the Lac de Jouarres, less than 10 minutes by car, with water sports during the summer. The coast is forty car minutes away, just beyond the picturesque city of Narbonne on the Canal du Robine. The large sandy beaches on the Golfe du Lion are lovely, and the Mediterranean pinewoods on the coast behind Narbonne-Plage are gorgeous.

Notes to the rental rates: The prices include final clean, use of bikes and internet access. The changeover is normally on a Saturday in high season, although other days can be accommodated out of season. Please contact us with your requirements. The villa is ready for occupation at 16:00 and should be vacated by 10:00 on the morning of your departure. We ask you to leave the villa in the same condition you would like to find it in. There is a deposit of 20 % of the total rental price payable on booking, with the balance payable 4 weeks before arrival. In case of no-shows or the balance remaining unpaid, the deposit will be forfeited. There is also a € 600 safety deposit which is kept until your departure and returned if there is no damage on final inspection.
The two mountain bikes can be used by guests, and there is wireless broadband Internet access (bring your own WiFi-enabled laptop). Linen is provided, but please bring some beach towels.
There are many excellent vineyards in the area (Minervois especially!) It's worth sampling some wines - tasting is often encouraged (use the bikes for serious vineyard touring and tasting!)
Parc Naturel Regional du Haut Langeudoc
This is a large and beautiful nature reserve in the montagne Noire, 30 minutes from the house. Trekking, lakes, rock climbing, deserted villages and Cathar history on your doorstep!
Lac du Jouarres
Very near Olonzac (3km) is this lake with watersports and related activities.
The Pyrenees can be seen on clear days. You can be on the slopes in 2-3 hours.
