Our holiday house is located in the district of Les Ayguades about 50 m from the lagoon and about 300 m from the wide, plain sandy beach. The lower floor features a living/dining room with kitchenette (big refrigerator), satellite TV (all German channels), a radio with CD-player, a shower and toilet. The upper floor has 2 bedrooms, one room with French bed and an armoire, the other room with a bunk bed with 2 single sleeping facilities. There is also a 2nd toilet on the upper floor. All furniture is made of light wood. The cosy terrace with grill invites to relax until late at night. The swimming pool is situated nearby. Next to the holiday resort there is a playground that can be reached directly through our resort.

Gruissan, one of France’s prettiest villages, has been able to keep its typical street picture. The winding alleys and old houses of this fishing village surround the old Barbarossa tower. At the foot of the natural reserve hill landscape “La Clape”, surrounded by lovely, wide sandy beach and many vineyards, it invites to linger here. This region has over 300 sunny days. The mild climate in winter and spring is suitable for a long stay.

Notes to the rental rates: Prices include visitor’s tax, water and electricity. Changeover of keys and final cleaning: 70 € (with pet 77€), caution money: 250 € (cash at outstanding payment). Bedclothes can be lend on demand. From 18.10.08 to 03.04.08 and 17.10.09 to 26.03.10 additional heating cost. Prices for long-term-rents of more than 3 weeks during low season on request. This means you are paying a set price. There won’t be any surprising surcharges for pets, crib, television or whatever has to be paid at the location of other rental agencies.
The swimming pool of the holiday resort is open from June 1st to September 30th. A pool attendant looks out for order and tidiness. Pets are welcome, but have to be registered. Bakery, newspaper/tobacco shop and a small supermarket are easily available by foot. The house can be electrically heated. In Gruissan resides a general practitioner that speaks German. On the way to the sea there are 2 restaurants. The Croc Vacanze and the Arc de Ciel. Especially mentionable is the surf school in Gruissan Mateille. It teaches surfing, funboard and catamaran. Lessons are offered in German and English also.
Excursion possibilities
In the close surrounding you can make many hiking and cycling tours in the natural reserve “La Clape”. The slopes of “Clape” are grown over with pine woods. On the elevated plains heath, thyme, rosemary, lavender and uncountable other, some rare plants, sprout. On a walking trail you can reach the fisherman cemetery and the chapel of 2Notre Dame des Auzils”, a pilgrimage place, where fishers come together at Easter and Pentecost. The beach “La Plage des Chalets” with a short drive. Here stand the wood houses that became famous by the movie “Betty Blue” (Jean-Jaques Beieix). IN the Aqua-Park of Narbonne Plage time goes by rapidly. He regions of Corière and Minervois with the Canal du Midi make beautiful destinations (abbeys, grots). Many wine producers open their cellars for visits and winetasting. A special delicacy is the town Carcassonne with its historic fortress.
Journey possibilities
The most common journey possibility is the own car. If you do not want to drive the entire distance by yourself, there is the alternative of travelling part of the way by motorail train. These trains drive all summer. Destination is Narbonne. Flying from different German towns is possible, too. At the present time flights from Frankfurt/Hahn and Cologne to Montpellier are available at very low prices. The lease of a rented car is not very expensive in France. You can get an Opel Corsa for about 200 € a week without kilometre limit.
