This cozy cottage was build following ecological aspects on the shore of the Bras d’Or Lakes. The cathedral sealing and the loft gives a feeling of generous space. Lots of pine paneling is in pleasing contrast with white areas. The excellent insulation gives pleasant cooling in summer and the wood stove will warm the cottage and your mind in winter. Enjoy magical sunsets over the water and look towards the mountains on the other side. Fill your days with quiet walks on the empty beach and pick star fish or oysters. Just in case the salty breeze should bother you once, then take a book to the roofed patio on the south side of the cottage. Watch Bald Eagles and Sea Gulls hunting for food in the crystal clear water, right from your breakfast table. The land lord family lives on the next property and would be happy to assist you with all your needs, regarding your whale watching tour, with “secret tips” to unexplored water falls, to “hidden spots” for moose hikes or your fishing needs.

Notes
We are rated by 'Canada Select' with four stars the 3rd year in the row. If you want us to fill your fridge with groceries before your arrival, just send us your shopping list a week in advance. This way you do not have to waste your vulnerable vacation time with shopping for groceries at the first day. Arrangements for serving breakfast in our breakfast gazebo beside the Bald Eagles nest, for guided tours or lessons on canoeing or sea kayaking nearby, on Fishing or Puffin tours, or for whale watching tours and moose hikes are welcome.
Just let us talk about it during the first breakfast.
Of course all kind of fishing, especially Fly Fishing for Atlantic Salmon or Trout’s, take a special place in our water surrounded facility. Your host, who is a fisher man since he can walk for himself, will be glad to assist you with “secret tips and advice” for the big catch. Many tout and salmon rivers, like the world class Margaree or Middle River, are just a few minutes car ride away. On these rivers you need to buy a special fishing license, but just one for all of them together, starting ad about $25.- One of the best spots for fishing eel, flat fish, rainbows or speckled trout, cod or perch, is located directly in front of the cottage. There is no cost for any fishing at our place. Enjoy a new exciting adventure every day of your Cape Breton vacation.
