House Lemon Creek is ideal located to visit many interesting and cultural attractions within day trips. The city of Nelson hosts more than 300 heritage houses and carries a very special flair. In summer there are always things and events happening. Local markets, street and song fests, exhibitions of local art and craft in almost every store and restaurant provide Nelson’s special charm. The beautiful small villages of New Denver, Silverton and Kaslo invite visitors to relax in one of the small restaurants. Enjoy their variety of Canadian, international, Japanese and vegetarian specialties. You will meet friendly people here who always have time for a little chat. And one attraction not to be missed is one of the wonderful hot springs of the area.
The Hosts
The German and English speaking hosts live on the same property. On hand to help fulfill their guest’s wishes they provide any individual support the visitors might need including their personal tips for travel and general vacation planning. Information material in form of brochures, books, maps as well as suggestions for day trips are handy. Jeep tours into the mountains, hikes, canoe trips on lake and river and horseback rides with experienced guides can be individually organized as well as backcountry trips and overnight stays in mountain cabins. Groceries are not only available in the big supermarkets in Nelson but are also offered from small farms in the Slocan Valley. The hosts like to share their products o their large fruit and vegetable garden with their guests
Mountain Hiking: There are many wonderful hiking trails inValhalla and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. Canoe and Kayak: Slocan Lake is in 8km, Slocan River at the backdoor has quiet parts but also rapids category 2, a challenge for experienced kayakers. Canoe, kayak rental and courses available Mountain Biking: Slocan Valley rail trail, level former rail road adjacent to property. Today hiking, bicycling and groomed cross country trail. 50 km along the river, remote beaches, endless motives for photographers and animal watchers. Logging roads up into the mountains challenge sportive mountain bikers. Bicycles are free.
Golfing: 18 extraordinary landscaped golf courses in a radius of 150km.
Winter sport: Cross country skiing and snowshoe hiking directly from the backdoor, 2 alpine ski hills in 1-1.5 hours, back country skiing and snow mobile tours from local operators
