The fortifications of Ehrenberg, an arrangement of four different ruins (Klause, Ehrenberg, Schloßkopf and Fort Claudia) unite the Middle Ages and the present and offer a magnificent view over the hollow. There is a local heritage museum, Tyrolean Evenings, regional theatres, the 'Geierwally Freilichtspiele' (great plays in a romantic ravine) and the musical 'King Ludwig II - Longing for Paradise' (we can order tickets for you!). The castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are only 14 km away, coming back over Wieskirche, Ettal Monastery, castle of Linderhof and the idyllic lake Plansee is a great round-trip.
